Welcome to the March 2026 release of MacroView DMS. This release includes several enhancements and improvements, and we've fixed a few things as well.

Customisation

We've added support for a custom DMS icon and splash screen. The following user interface components can now be customised via DMS Explorer configuration.

  • In DMS Explorer: the splash screen's icon and main label, and the application icon in the title bar2965029651

Configuration

A new configuration option makes DMS integration with Microsoft Defender attachment scanning more flexible. 29699

Microsoft Defender's Safe Attachments policy checks emails for harmful attachments before delivering them to the recipient. The Safe Attachments Dynamic Delivery action allows emails to be delivered while attachments are still being checked, replacing them with a placeholder until Safe Attachments scanning is complete. DMS checks for the placeholder attachment and, if found, flags the email as Not Auto Filed by CEF. Once Safe Attachments scanning is complete, DMS saves the email and any safe attachments then removes the Not Auto Filed by CEF flag.

Over time, the placeholder attachment name has changed, impacting DMS's ability to detect when email attachments are being scanned in accordance with the Safe Attachments policy. This enhancement allows the name of the placeholder attachment to be configured in DMS, removing the dependence on a specific attachment name, and allowing emails and their safe attachments to be saved without delay.

 

Notable fixes

This release includes fixes addressing the following issues.

  • Views with more than 40 columns show fields that are not in the view definition. 29600
  • Opening files using OneDrive protocol. 28901
  • MacroView DMS becomes unresponsive if the workstation is in a License Expiring state. 29635
  • When creating a Word document via the New > Office Document > Document option, the Save dialog does not appear. 29708
  • The Show All button on the DMS tree view Filter dialog is not displayed when the Nodes to Trigger option is set. 29737
  • Copy as PDF can now replace and update existing pdfs. 29741
  • Keyboard short cuts not working for Copy, cut or paste. 29635
  • Dragging a file from file list can be unresponsive when attempting to move to a different location. 29756
  • Creating a folder in Outlook does not refresh the File List location.  29781
