Release overview

Welcome to the very first SureFile Enterprise release, October 2026, which is now generally available.

SureFile Enterprise is MacroView's most recent new product. If you’re familiar with MacroView’s tailored document and email management solutions, you’re already experiencing the benefits of having everything stored in a centrally accessible location. SureFile Enterprise takes this a step further by ensuring all your emails are tagged appropriately, and stored securely, automatically and without delay, even if Outlook is closed or your computer is offline.

The following documentation is available to help you get up to speed with SureFile Enterprise, and there's more to come.

Application

SureFile Enterprise service

The heart of SureFile Enterprise is an Azure managed application running 24/7.

  • Offers a scalable solution for enterprise customers that remains viable for customers who use new Outlook.
  • Server-side operation removes the reliance on Outlook being open or users' computers being online.
  • Robust logging uses Azure Application Insights.
Managed filing

Managed filing

The SureFile Enterprise service incorporates MacroView Managed Filing's core functionality and expands on it.

  • Backwards compatibility with Managed Filing rules (migrate existing rules)
  • Monitor incoming and outgoing emails, subject to configuration.
  • File emails and their attachments automatically and without delay.
  • Tag emails and store them securely along with any attached documents, in the same or separate SharePoint locations.
  • Optionally, store emails in multiple locations.
  • Add Outlook categories to each email, indicating they've been saved and where they can be found.
Configuration

Administration portal

Configure how SureFile Enterprise works in the authenticated administration portal.

  • Manage subscriptions that identify which users' sent/received emails are monitored.
  • Define rules that match emails and determine what to do with them (add tags, storage location).
  • Build regular expressions for rule conditions using a guided user experience.
  • Decide whether to check all relevant rules or stop after the first match.
  • Configure the tags and Outlook categories added to each matched email.
  • Map MacroView columns to SharePoint columns so that they're populated by MacroView products.
  • Monitor failed upload attempts, with access to details that aid troubleshooting.
Outlook

Integration with Outlook

The Outlook add-in provides a familiar experience for tagging and storing emails.

  • Tag and save emails and their attachments directly from Outlook.
  • Run rules on untagged emails (for example, if an upload fails because the location has optional/required metadata).
  • View rules configured in the Administration portal.
  • Outlook categories are visible to all users on the email chain that have SureFile Enterprise associated with their account.

Enhancements and improvements

Here are some notable enhancements and improvements that we've made during the beta release program.

New

  • Added MacroView licensing consent to the deployment process.
  • Display a banner when a minor service update is available, with option to deploy the update.
  • Import and export subscriptions.
  • Import existing Managed Filing rules from JSON files.
  • Retry failed uploads.
  • Export failed uploads to CSV files.
  • Import and export SureFile settings.
  • Added a license check on the Settings page.
  • Added a version info card on the Settings page.

Improved

  • When selecting subscription users, the people picker now supports groups.
  • A better regex builder for creating rules.
  • Improved bulk saving capability.
  • Added an email category for "Failed upload".
