Provisioner 5.0 Upgrade Process

MacroView Provisioner 5.0 has a single installation file that includes the following provisioning products:

  • MacroView DMS Provisioning extension (free for all licensed users of MacroView DMS / DMS Pro).
  • MacroView Provisioner (requires a licence to use the bulk provisioning console app or API).

Moving both provisioning products to a single installation file provides the following benefits:

  • Simplifies the installation experience for end users.
  • Allows users to use one or both products without forcing them to pick a specific product. Previously these products were mutually exclusive, users had to uninstall one product in order to install the other.
  • The products share a significant amount of common provisioning code (i.e. the same files) so it makes sense to combine these products, as the difference in installation size is negligible.

How to install

Before installing MacroView Provisioner 5.0 or above, the following products must first be uninstalled:

  • MacroView Provisioner 4.
  • MacroView DMS Provisioning extension 4.
  • MacroView Solutions Provisioning.
  • MacroView Solutions Provisioning Standalone.

Troubleshooting

If you receive the following message during installation of MacroView Provisioner 5.0 or above, then please uninstall any products listed in the how to install section above.
