About MacroView Provisioner
The MacroView Provisioner extension for MacroView DMS and solutions based on DMS and such as MacroView Case and Matter and MacroView Project, adds a Provision option to the tree view right-click menu, allowing users and administrators to quickly and easily create and configure new areas in SharePoint.
MacroView Provisioner allows users with suitable permissions to:
- Create new site collections
- Create new sites
- Create new document libraries
- Add solution columns, content types and views to existing sites and libraries
- Add Push Favourite subscription and other lists to existing sites
- Create new Microsoft Teams and Channels (Office 365 only)
- Create Term Group and Term Sets (*Tenant level Office 365 only)
MacroView Provisioner can provision solutions in:
- Standard SharePoint site collections
- OneDrive for Business user sites
- Team and Group sites collections
- Microsoft Teams site collections
In addition to creating standard SharePoint site collections, sites and libraries, MacroView Provisioner also includes options for creating site collections, sites and libraries configured for the following MacroView solutions.
- MacroView Document and Email Management
- MacroView Case and Matter
- MacroView Project
- MacroView Push Favorites
- Create Document Set

Which provisioning extension is right for you?
MacroView Provisioner requires MacroView DMS 8.6 or later. If you are using DMS version 8.5 or earlier, or MacroView Case and Matter or MacroView Project 8.5 or earlier, you should install MacroView Provisioning for SharePoint instead.
Provisioning new site collections, sites and libraries
When MacroView Provisioner is installed, the right-click tree view menu in Browse and Favourites of MacroView DMS and DMS Pro includes a Provision option with sub-menu options that are contextual based on the selected item.
Where an option is not supported or the user does not have the required permissions, the option on the sub-menu will be disabled.
New Site Collections (Office 365 Only)
For on-premises SharePoint the site collection should be created in the browser and the solution components added later using the Add Site Collection Components option on the Provision menu.
In order to create new site collections on SharePoint Online you must have either the SharePoint Administrator or Global Administrator role in the Office 365 Admin Center. If you don't have either of these roles, please contact your SharePoint administrator and have them create a site collection for you.
To create a new site collection:
- Right-click on the SharePoint Online tenant node and select Provision > New Site Collection.
- Select the Solution and Site Template type and enter the site collection title, URL stem and other parameters.
- To see a detailed description of what the selected site type will create, float the mouse over the ?
- If the selected site type includes an option to automatically number newly created areas (such as matter or project numbers) you can check the Create List option to have this created in the new site collection.
- Click OK
The creation of a new site collection can take some time so please be patient. If you want the dialog to close automatically when the site collection has been created, check the Close window when finished option before clicking OK.
New Sites
To create a new site:
- Right-click on the site collection node and select Provision > New Site.
- Select the Site Type and enter the site title, URL stem and other parameters.
- To see a detailed description of what the selected site type will create, float the mouse over the ?
Only options applicable to the site collection configuration will be displayed. For example, if the site collection has been configured for use with MacroView Case and Matter, options for MacroView Document and Email Management or MacroView Project will not be listed.
- If the selected site type includes an option to automatically number newly created areas (such a matter or project numbers) you can check the Create List option to have this created in the new site.
- Click OK
New Libraries
To create a new library:
- Right-click on the site node and select Provision > New Library.
- Select the Library Type and enter the library title, URL suffix and other parameters.
- To see a detailed description of what the selected library type will create, float the mouse over the ?
Only options applicable to the site collection configuration will be displayed. For example, if the site collection has been configured for use with MacroView Case and Matter, options for MacroView Document and Email Management or MacroView Project will not be listed.
- Click OK
New Library from Template
To create a new library using a standard library template:
- Right-click on the site node and select Provision > New Library from Template.
- Select the Template and enter the library name and description.
- Click OK
Adding MacroView solution components to existing sites and libraries
To add solution components to an existing tenant, site collection, site or library, right click on the item in the tree view and select:
- Provision > Add component
- Select the required component or components
- To see a detailed description of what components will create for the selected option, float the mouse over the ?
Only options applicable to the site collection configuration will be displayed. For example, if the site collection has been configured for use with MacroView Case and Matter, options for MacroView Document and Email Management or MacroView Project will not be listed.
- Click OK
New Microsoft Teams (Office 365 Only)
To create a new team:
- Right-click on the SharePoint Online tenant node and select Provision > New Team
- Enter the display name, mail nickname (with no whitespaces), private or public and other parameters.
- Select the Solution: Document and Email Management
- Click OK
New Channel (Office 365 only)
To create a new channel in a team:
- Right-click on a team node and select Provision > New Channel
- Enter the display name and description.
- Click OK
Update Existing Team Library (Office 365 only)
To update an existing Team library to include the MacroView Document and Email Management content types, columns and views:
- Right-click on the library node and select Provision > Add Library Components
- Select the Solution.
- Click OK
Download MacroView Provisioner
MacroView Provisioner is supported on version 8.6 or later of MacroView DMS and products based on DMS such as MacroView Case and Matter and MacroView Project.
Note: If you have installed MacroView DMS using the installation wizard provided with an evaluation licence, MacroView Provisioner should already be installed.
