JSON Favorites
DMF 9.2 uses a new JSON format for the favorites file. The new format is up to 95% smaller than the previous XML format. Simple and lightweight, it's perfect for fast and reliable syncing and backup. When you start DMF 9.2 for the first time, it will detect and seamlessly convert your existing XML based favorites to the new JSON format.
Previous versions of DMF 9.1 and earlier favorites (XML) are not compatible with 9.2 and will automatically be converted to JSON on startup. Your previous XML favorites file will be retained as-is at the time of conversion but will not be kept up to date when using DMF 9.2. If you downgrade to a previous version of DMF you will lose any changes you make to favorites while using DMF 9.2.
Sync and Backup Favorites
Favorites can now be backed up to OneDrive and sync with your other MacroView products including DMF on other computers. We took the same familiar Favorites experience you expect and turned it up a notch.
Follow your own path
Enable Sync Favorites from DMF Options and DMF helpfully sets a recommended location in your OneDrive, backs up your favorites and starts keeping them in sync. You're in control, change the Remote location of synced favorites to decide where your favorites are backed up. If you decide to turn off Sync favorites, we'll keep a copy stored on your computer. Never worry about lost favorites again.
Sync favorites is enabled by default for new installs without any existing favorites.
Automatic remote path setup requires a OneDrive server.
Text Headings in Search Panels
We've added the ability to add text headings to your search panel layouts. This makes it easier to organise and navigate long search panels with a lot of fields.
