Purpose
The Send To plugin for MacroView DMS provides a right-click shortcut to save a file(s) hosted in SharePoint to a separate cloud storage service.
Send To is compatible with the following cloud services:
- Box
- Dropbox
- Google Drive
- iCloud
- OneDrive
How it works
When you right-click a file (or files) in SharePoint using MacroView DMS you will notice a new drop-down menu named Send To.
If you want to save a file (or files) located in SharePoint to a separate cloud storage service using Send To:
- In MacroView DMS, right-click the SharePoint file(s) you wish to send to the cloud.
- Hover over the Send To drop-down menu and select your cloud storage provider.
- A dialog will appear, prompting you to browse your local cloud storage folders for a location you wish to save your file(s).
- Click OK to save your file and finish.
- Once you have saved, the file will be saved to your local cloud storage folder. Your cloud service provider will then handle the file sync from your computer's local folder to the cloud like normal.
By default, Send To is configured to search the default cloud service installation locations to find their local folder. If you have changed the name of your cloud storage folder or it's location, you will notice that the Send To drop-down may be disabled or not display your cloud service.
To resolve this, you need to update the name and/or location of your local cloud storage folder in the appropriate registry setting.
To do this:
- Navigate to the following registry location:
- HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\MacroView\DMF\Customizations\MacroView\SaveToCloud
- Right-click your cloud service and Modify its value to reflect the correct address location for the cloud service's root folder.
- The screenshot below shows OneDrive with a custom name and address path.
- Restart Outlook/DMS Explorer and check to see if your Send To location is visible.
