MacroView Settings allows administrators to define and deploy application settings for supported MacroView products to users across an organisation, allowing them to set up configurations for their entire organisation, user groups or individual users without requiring user input.
MacroView Configurations supports the following products:
- MacroView Mail
Sign in
MacroView Settings can be accessed by going to: https://settings.macroview.com.au
After navigating to MacroView Settings, you will be promped to sign in using your Microsoft Entra ID account. The first time you sign in, you will be prompted to consent to the following app permissions which are required to access the site:
By default, MacroView Settings is accessible to all users in your tenant who successfully authenticate. To limit access to a specific group of (admin) users, you can configure MacroView Settings to require user assignment. For guidance, refer to the Microsoft documentation:

Using MacroView Settings
Once signed in, MacroView Settings displays a landing page that shows the following:
- Shortcut menu to access other MacroView sites and support services, including help centre support, tutorials and announcements.
- User profile and sign-out button.
- Add new configuration.
- Refresh the list of configurations.
- List of configurations, with key information detailing the application, description, indicator to show whether the configuration is deployed, and the date/time it was last updated.
Creating a new configuration
To create a new settings configuration:
- Select the Add button on the landing page to launch the "Create new configuration" flow.
- Select the application to configure from the drop-down menu.
- Select the settings to configure for your intended user group.
Note: A link to the MacroView Help Centre with an article that details each setting and how they can be used is available in the description.
- Select the users to apply the configuration to. You can select from the following:
- Entire organisation: This configuration will be applied to all users in your organisation.
- Specific users: Select one or more users in your organisation to apply the configuration.
-
Specific users/groups: Select one or more users or Azure AD groups to apply the configuration.
Note: The first time this option is selected, you will be prompted to provide additional permissions for MacroView Settings to access Azure AD groups on your tenant.
- Review and finish, confirming the following details:
- Settings configuration
- Assigned users
- Determine whether to deploy the settings immediately (default) or save them to deploy later
- Specify a description that will be displayed on the landing page
After selecting Create, the configuration will be created, added to the landing page and either deployed or saved (depending on what you selected in the Deploy configuration step on the Review and finish page).
Settings priority
If a user has multiple settings applicable to their account, MacroView Settings will select one based on the following priority order:
- Specific user
- Specific group
- Entire organisation
If the user has multiple settings applied to their account at the same level (for example, if there are two configurations for specific groups and the user is a member of both of them), MacroView Settings will only choose one to apply to the account.
MacroView Settings also does not support merging settings from two configurations for a user. In this instance, the administrator should create a configuration for the specific user to include all required settings for their account.
Export and import configurations
Configurations can be exported and imported to make multiple configurations quickly, without needing to go through the flow multiple times if each configuration only has a few differences.
To export a configuration:
- Choose an existing configuration on the landing page
- Select the Settings tab
- Select the Export button
The configuration will then be exported as a JSON file and saved to your device.
To import a configuration:
- On the landing page, select the Add button
- Select the application to configure from the drop down menu
- On the Create new configuration step, select the Import button
- Select a compatible JSON settings file from your device
- One selected, the settings should be added to your configuration
- Complete the Create new configuration flow as normal
Deploying settings
Once a configuration has been set to deploy, MacroView Settings will deploy it automatically to applicable users within 24 hours.
To get changes sooner, each application has a mechanism to fetch the latest options applicable to that user using the Refresh options button found in the respective Options tab/window for that application.
