MacroView DMS has introduced support for Group by Views on SharePoint Online (Office 365) where the view has been defined as collapsed.
When enabled, Group by Views on SharePoint Online (Office 365) displays files grouped by the defined metadata similar to how the same view is represented in the browser.
Each group header shows the count of the documents contained within it and all of its sub groups, and can be expanded and collapsed using the + and - signs.
When the number of documents in any single group exceeds the File in file list setting under options, paging buttons are provided allowing you to page forward and backward through the documents within the group.
How to enable 365 Group By Views
To enable Group By Views in DMS, navigate to File > Options > Appearance and tick the Enable Group By Views option.
Alternatively, you can set the below registry value to 1 (default) or to disable it set the value to 0:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\MacroView\DMF\UserOptions\EnableGroupByViews
Version support
MacroView DMS 8.5 or later
Additional notes
- Group By Views configured as 'Expanded' are not supported. Groups and documents are displayed but each page will only contain up to the number of items defined by the File in file list setting under options and you must page though all documents within each group before the next group heading is displayed.
- Group headers collapse after a filter and sort operation. Re-expanding the group will display the correctly filtered or sorted results.
- Level 1 Group By Views based on number or date columns do not display group headers beyond the first page.
