Attaching a File/s from SharePoint to a New Email
When preparing a new email, forwarding or replying to an email, MacroView DMS displays a custom ribbon with the following buttons:
- Insert Attachment
- Insert Link
- To File
- To Location
- Insert Picture
Insert Attachment
Clicking Insert Attachment displays the DMS dialog, allowing you to navigate your SharePoint environment to select the file(s) to insert as attachments into your message.
Insert Link
Clicking Insert Link To File/Location displays the DMS dialog, allowing you to navigate your SharePoint environment to select the file, files or location to retrieve and insert as a link into your message.
Insert Picture
Clicking Insert Picture displays the DMS dialog, allowing you to navigate your SharePoint environment to select an image to insert into your message.
After selecting a file (or files), location or image, the Insert button will become active. Click Insert to have the selected file(s) inserted as embedded attachment(s), links or images in the current email.
The buttons are supported in any DMS mode - Browse, Favourites, Recent, and Search.
Send As Link
Send as, Link/Send Link (ribbon) – creates a new email message that contains a hyperlink to each file or location from SharePoint.
The links to files appear one per line, and a warning message is displayed if the file(s) are Checked Out.

Copy as Link
Copies URL for the selected files, folders and document sets to the clipboard.
Send As and Copy as are supported in all modes - Browse, Favourites, Recent, and Search.
Advanced Options
The following settings can enhance links:
UseProtocolHandlerForLinks - generate hyperlink will contain a dmf: prefix. This will cause the DMS Protocol Handler to process the hyperlink when it is clicked, opening the document in the relevant application as if the document had been opened using MacroView DMS.
Location-specific links will navigate to that location in DMS Explorer:
UseDocIdRedir will generate hyperlinks that use the Document ID Redirection page:
