Display of dates and times
Dates and times are displayed using the regional and locale settings of the SharePoint site, or as specified using your personal Office profile settings in SharePoint, with the following exceptions:
- 'Last Used' in Recents. The 'Last Used' column in Recents is always displayed using the time zone and regional settings of the local computer.
- Custom date/time in Recents. Any custom dates or date/time columns added to the file lists in Recents mode will always be displayed using the time zone and regional settings of the site where the file is located.
Entering dates and times
When entering a custom date/time property on the MacroView DMS and DMS Pro properties dialog, the date entered is the date and time based on the time zone of the SharePoint sites regional settings unless your personal Office profile settings in SharePoint have been set.
For example, if your local computers regional settings are set to Sydney, Australia (GMT+10:00) and you are saving the file to a:
- SharePoint site with its regional setting also set to Sydney Australia (GMT+10:00), and you do not have a personal time zone preference set in your SharePoint profile, entering 9:00 AM December 1, 2020 will record and display the date and time as 9:00 AM December 1, 2020 (GMT+10:00)
- SharePoint site with its regional setting set to London, United Kingdom (GMT), and you do not have a personal time zone preference set in your SharePoint profile, entering 9:00 AM December 1, 2020 will record and display the date and time as 9:00 AM December 1, 2020 (GMT)
- SharePoint site with its regional setting set to London, United Kingdom (GMT), and you do have a personal time zone preference set to Sydney, Australia (GMT+10:00), entering 9:00 AM December 1, 2020 will record the date and time as 11:00 PM November 30, 2020 (GMT+0:00) and display it as 9:00 AM December 1, 2020 (unless you remove or change your personal time zone preference in your SharePoint profile)
How the date is displayed when viewing it in MacroView DMS or the browser is determined by the site's regional settings or your personal regional setting preference if one is set. See this article for information on how to set your personal profile regional settings.
