When Send as Link is selected from the right click menu of a file in DMF/Message it creates a new email message that contains a hyperlink to the file in its SharePoint location. We have extended this features capabilities to allows users to right click on the file list or tree view and send the link to a library, folder or document set you wish to share via email.

If the configuration setting Use Protocol Handler For Links is ON, the generated hyperlink will contain a dmfs: prefix.

This will cause the DMF Protocol Handler to process the hyperlink when it is clicked on, opening the document in the relevant application as if the document had been opened using MacroView DMF.

The display text for the generated hyperlink is controlled by the settings "Use file name as display text when inserting attachments as hyperlinks".

This settings will insert the link into an email as a hyperlink which displays the name of the file instead of a URL as illustrated below.
