The process to archive a matter, will declare all the documents for the matter as records. This means that no further editing can be done to any of the archived documents.
To Archive a Matter
Right-click on the Document Set for the Matter and select Archive Matter
The following dialog will display to inform you the matter will be archived and all documents will be declared as records, choose OK to proceed.
When the archive matter process is complete this dialog displays, informing you that the Matter Archiving process is finished and to Refresh:
Note: The matter archiving process does not move the matter to another location, it simply just "locks" all documents from further editing by declaring them as records.
The Matter Status is updated to Archive for the document set and documents within the document set and folders below.
Archived documents are shown in the file list with a padlock overlay on the icon and when opened will be read-only
