Regional information such as dates, times, currencies and number formats are by default displayed in SharePoint using the region settings configured for the SharePoint site where each file is stored, or if your organization allows it, using the users own preferences specified in their user profile in SharePoint Online and SharePoint 2013, 2016 & 2019.
In versions of MacroView DMF and Message up until 8.8.30 each user could control the formats or date and time information by setting the Date And Time Locale setting under options to either Server, Local Machine or User Option and the preferred Time Format could be specified using the Time Format option.
What has changed in newer versions of MacroView DMF and MacroView Message?
The Date And Time Locale setting and the Time Format setting under Options have been removed.
MacroView DMF and MacroView Message will instead always display date, time and currency information in the format defined for each individual site in SharePoint unless the current user has specified their own personal preferences in their SharePoint or Office 365 profile.
This means date, time and currency information will by default be displayed as if the previous MacroView DMF Date And Time Locale option had been set to Server, and setting personal regional settings in SharePoint or Office 365 will replace the use of the previous User and Local Machine options to override the default server formats.
Why is this changing?
The purpose of these options in DMF and Message was to allow users to specify personal preferences regardless of the version of SharePoint they were accessing. As SharePoint 2010 is no longer supported by MacroView DMF and Message 8.8.90 or later and versions of SharePoint from 2013 natively support setting personal regional settings, the Date And Time Locale and Time Format options are no longer necessary and could in fact conflict with a users personal settings in SharePoint.
What do you need to do?
You do not need to do anything unless you want to change the format in which date, time and currency information is displayed when using MacroView DMF or MacroView Message and you do not already have personal regional settings defined for your SharePoint user profile.
