Often a copy of an email needs to be saved to more than one project or matter and therefore needs to be saved to several locations in SharePoint.
In MacroView DMF (DMS Pro) or MacroView Message (DMS) 8.9.784 or later Managed Filing supports saving an email to multiple locations by inserting multiple filing tags in the subject of an email.
The tags can correspond to a single rule definition or to multiple rule definitions.
To enable Managed Filing to file emails to multiple locations the setting under MacroView > Email Filing Rules > Corporate Rules, Stop rule evaluation after first matching rule, must be unticked:
MacroView Managed Filing will then process each filing tag in the subject of the email separately.
Inserting a tag where one already exists
When you insert a tag where one already exists the below window is displayed showing the tags already present on the email.
You can choose to keep all the existing tags by choosing 'Deselect All' then clicking OK.
You can also choose to selectively remove some tags by leaving those you wish to remove ticked and clicking OK.
Show Tag and Location Category
When an email is saved to SharePoint the save location is recorded as a category on the copy of the email in Outlook.
When an email is saved to multiple locations the category on the copy of the email in Outlook will reflect the last location in which it was saved.
To open the location associated with any of the tags on an email, click the Show Tag option and select the location. The dialog will show the location for all all tags in the email subject.
