Issue
No files are displayed when a library, folder or document set node is selected in DMS in Outlook.
Affects: Versions of MacroView DMS prior to 8.4.1317
Cause
Microsoft Office Security updates rolled out by an automatic Windows Update on October 12, 2017 and November 7, 2017 disabled the display of roaming folder home pages in Outlook unless they are specifically enabled via the registry.
This change impacted the list control MacroView DMS use to display the list items in a selected library, folder or document set.
Workaround
If you are running a version of DMS prior to 8.4.1317 and are unable to upgrade, you can enable roaming roaming folder home pages in Outlook (your computer administrator may need to do this), by setting the following registry key for your version of Office.
- For Outlook 2016:
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\16.0\Outlook\Security]
"EnableRoamingFolderHomepages"=dword:00000001 - For Outlook 2013:
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\15.0\Outlook\Security]
"EnableRoamingFolderHomepages"=dword:00000001 - For Outlook 2010:
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\14.0\Outlook\Security]
"EnableRoamingFolderHomepages"=dword:00000001
Note: Before making this change you should carefully consider the security implications of enabling Roaming Folder Home pages in Outlook. See this article for more information.
Solution
Upgrade to MacroView DMS 8.4.1317 or later
