Issue
The Search button on DMS and DMS Pro search panels is disabled preventing searches from being executed.
Affects: MacroView DMS and DMS Pro 8.4.1317
Cause
This is the result of changes in Microsoft Office Security updates rolled out by an automatic Windows Update on October 12, 2017 and November 7, 2017.
Workaround
If you are unable to upgrade to DMS or DMS Pro version 8.4.1331 or later, this issue can be resolved by enabling roaming folder home pages in Outlook (your computer administrator may need to do this) by setting the following registry key for your version of Office.
- For Outlook 2016:
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\16.0\Outlook\Security]
"EnableRoamingFolderHomepages"=dword:00000001 - For Outlook 2013:
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\15.0\Outlook\Security]
"EnableRoamingFolderHomepages"=dword:00000001 - For Outlook 2010:
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\14.0\Outlook\Security]
"EnableRoamingFolderHomepages"=dword:00000001
Note: Before making this change you should carefully consider the security implications of enabling Roaming Folder Home pages in Outlook. See this article for more information.
Resolution
This issue is resolved in MacroView DMS and DMS Pro 8.4.1331 or later versions.
