The Find Files control above the file list in MacroView DMS and DMS Pro allows you to quickly locate any documents or emails containing the entered text in their metadata or content from the current location or any of the current location sub folders.
To find files, enter text in the Find Files control on the File List Toolbar and hit enter.
When a Find Files is in effect on the file list items, the search parameters are displayed in the message bar above the file list.
Find Files is available in Browse and Favourites modes and when viewing recent locations in Recents mode on SharePoint Online or on-premise SharePoint 2016 or 2019 in Client Side Only mode.
Working with Find Files results
While a Find Files is applied to the file list an additional Found in column is appended to the current view.
You can further refine the results by switching between available views or applying a column filter using the options on the File List Toolbar
Refreshing the file list while viewing Find Files results will show new items and remove deleted items as well as refresh the status of each item in the file list without removing the applied Find Files filter.
Clearing Find Files results
To clear the Find Files results and return the file list to show only files within the currently selected view and with any currently applied filters, click the red 'X' in the Find Files control.
Version Support
Find Files is supported in
- MacroView DMS and DMS Pro 8.6 or later
- SharePoint Online
- On-premise SharePoint 2016 or 2019 in Client Side Only mode.
Additional Notes
In some situations where the number of items in the area being searched exceeds the List View Threshold (usually 5000 items) the returned results will be limited to only the most relevant 60 items.
