Purpose
MacroView Solution Provisioning allows users with appropriate permission to create site collections, sites and libraries that are configured with the columns, content types and library views suitable for use with MacroView DMS. The MacroView Solution Provisioning extension is installed as part of the first-run evaluation installation for MacroView DMS.
When you create new MacroView Document and Email Management site collections, or apply the MacroView Document and Email Management Solution to any existing site collection, OneDrive for Business site or Microsoft Teams site, users with the appropriate permissions are able to quickly and easily create document libraries that are ideal for storing documents and emails with automatically captured metadata.
After installing the MacroView DMS solution via the first-run experience a right-click menu option called 'Provision' will be available when selecting a site collection, site or library node.
Pictured above: The 'Provision' menu displayed when right-clicking a site collection node.
The 'Provision' option contains a number of sub menu options that vary depending on the type of node that has been selected and whether or not the current user has the required permissions to that area.
Site content types
The following site content types are included in each site collection type.
Library types
The following library types can be provisioned in each site collection type.
MacroView Documents and Emails
The default library type which is ideal for managing documents, emails and email attachments. This library type includes separate content types for documents and emails with all metadata captured automatically by default so there is no profiling when saving files. It also includes a familiar Emails view that is similar to viewing emails in Outlook and separate views for other Office and PDF document types.
This is the best library type when storing a combination of documents and emails or if you plan to add any additional custom metadata columns for documents.
MacroView Email Messages
This library type is ideal for managing emails and email attachments. This library type includes single content type for emails with all non-personal metadata captured automatically by default so there is no profiling when they are saved. It also includes a familiar Emails view that is similar to viewing emails in Outlook and an All Document view in newly created libraries for viewing email attachments.
This is a useful library type when just storing emails and their attachments and the attachments do not require any custom metadata recorded.
MacroView Document and Emails - Single Content Type
This library type suitable for managing documents, emails and email attachments. It includes a single content that includes all email and document metadata columns. It also includes a familiar Emails view that is similar to viewing emails in Outlook and separate views for other Office and PDF document types.
This library type is an alternative to the MacroView Document and Emails library when you require common custom metadata to be captured on both documents and emails.
Library views
Depending on the library type a combination of the following views will be included.
