MacroView DMF 8.8.24 and later allow you to configure when the properties dialog is displayed as files and emails are being saved.
Where previously the user would automatically be prompted if there were any custom properties associated with the selected content type, DMF and Message 8.8.24 and later allow you to specify under which circumstances the dialog is displayed when saving emails and/or when saving files.
The options available are as follows:
All required and optional properties
This is the default value for this setting and when selected the properties dialog will be displayed if the content type contains any custom metadata columns that are not set to 'hidden' regardless of whther or not they have default values assigned.
Only required properties
When this option is selected the properties dialog will only be displayed when the selected content type contains any custom required metadata columns.
If the selected content type only contains optional and hidden properties then the dialog is not displayed and these properties will retain their default value.
If there are required properties, the dialog will be displayed regardless of whether or not the required property contains a default value.
Only required properties with no default value
When this option is selected the properties dialog will only be displayed when the selected content type contains any custom required metadata columns that do not have a default value defined.
If all the required properties contain a default value and the selected content type also contains optional properties then the dialog is not displayed and the optional properties will be left blank or retain their default value.
Only required and optional properties with no default value
When this option is selected the properties dialog will only be displayed when the selected content type contains any custom required or optional metadata columns that do not have a default value defined.
If all the required and optional properties contain a default value then the dialog is not displayed and the required and optional properties will retain their default value.
Saving emails with filing rules when metadata columns have default values
Note:
These settings supersede the existing Only show properties dialog when there are required properties when saving document/emails settings
If either of these setting have been applied then the below equivalent setting needs to be set to get the same behavior after upgrading to version 8.8.24 or later.
